About the Journal
Migration, along with the societal events and debates it brings about, continues to be a major focus of attention for both national and international spheres, as well as the academic world. However, the tangible outcomes of this interest and their applicability in the field are not progressing at a pace parallel to the importance of the issue. This creates significant delays and challenges in effectively managing the process for both the academic community, societal actors, and policymakers.
In today’s world, migration and its consequences, driven by war and climate-related causes, need to be both understood and properly managed. Otherwise, the emergence of new crises will be inevitable. With this perspective in mind, we are pleased to share the journey of AJOMS / Academic Journal of Migration Studies with you.
Our journal, AJOMS / Academic Journal of Migration Studies, is published twice a year, in June and December. Our aim is to contribute to the production and sharing of academic knowledge by covering various aspects of current discussions on migration. In this context, our journal aims to contribute to the field with empirical original research, reviews, case studies, and book reviews on migration and human mobility in areas such as economics, demography, culture, identity, history, law, politics, social policy, social work, and health. With this goal, AJOMS / Academic Journal of Migration Studies is a free, open-access, peer-reviewed journal that will publish articles in both Turkish and English. Submitted manuscripts will be reviewed through a double-blind peer review process by editors and anonymous reviewers.
We are excited to embark on this valuable journey alongside all researchers and academics. We hope that this journal we are preparing together will help fill the gap in this field to some extent. We wish it to be a beneficial contribution to the academic world.
